IT MAY not be quite as dramatic as Namaqualand in springtime, but the Eshowe area does produce an abundance of wild flowers in the latter months of the year, as these photographs show.  Local gardeners like to say that in Eshowe one never needs to plant anything, rather one needs only to remove the excess growth.

From gardenias to clivias, from hydrangeas to irises and from flamboyants to jacarandas, the springtime colours in Eshowe can be quite enthralling.
