Annual Shembe Gathering at Judea.

Every year in October 30,000 odd Shembe followers gather at Judea near Eshowe. Overnight a huge village springs up …some come to their permanent abodes and others tent up with their families for two weeks or so. Shembe arrives anytime after the 8th October .

There are a host of activities programmed culminating in the final weekend of the month when they have a mass wedding and baptisms amongst prayer gatherings and prayer dances.

This is a wonderful event to visit and a chance to meet people who have taken a sabbatical to meet and be blessed by Shembe.
